What is a palindrome?

A palindrome is a word, number or sequence of characters that are spelt the same way forward and backward.
Palin is the Greek word for back.
Dromos is the Greek word for direction.
Palindrome means running backwards.

Another aspect of the palindrome is that it is able to reproduce itself.

Kayak, eye, racecar, mom, dad, level, noon, deified, minim, reifier, repaper, etc.

Number palindrome
111, 121, 131, 313, 1331, 23832, 2002, etc.

Place palindrome
Aba, Abiriba, Apapa, Ede, Eleyele, Epe, Ibi, Ini, Oko, Oro, Owo, Oyo, etc.

Phrase palindrome
Was it a cat I saw?
No trace, not one carton.
Red rum sir, is murder.
Some men interpret nine memos.
